Trains Across New England – Fall

Fall Foliage Tour

Enjoy vibrant fall foliage as you chug along the scenic railroads of New England. The trip begins at the Anheuser-Busch facility, where you can tour the famous Clydesdale horse barn, see the beer manufacturing grounds, and taste some samples. Enjoy a hearty roast turkey dinner on the vintage coaches of the Winnipesaukee Scenic Railroad, taking in scenic views of New Hampshire’s largest lake. On day two, a guide will lead you on a White Mountain Trail tour, including Kancamagus Highway and its famous fall foliage. Then board the Conway Scenic Railway and travel through the Mount Washington valley, over the three breath-taking rivers. Stop for a photo-op at Quechee Gorge on day three, and then board the White River Flyer for a boxed lunch and views of the Green Mountain’s foothills and wildlife sanctuary. Deboard and head to the Billings Farm and Museum for exhibits about rural Vermont’s history. Next, transfer to Connecticut for a guided tour of Hartford including the Connecticut River, the Olde State House, Mark Twain’s family church, and much more. Then depart from Essex station on the Essex Steam Train, ride through the Connecticut River Valley, and hop on a riverboat for a narrated cruise. Finish your journey with a night of fun at either Foxwoods or Mohegan Sun Casino, and wind down with a trip to the picturesque U.S. Coast Guard Museum.
